Ew. You played animal crossing? Well I'm glad to see that you realized that sdv Is better.(No hard feelings here, so don't worry)
That is okay.
In my opinion, SDV utterly exceeded Animal Crossing.
I played Animal Crossing during the lockdown of COVID-19.
There are a huge number of ornaments or flowers or fishes but I think SDV is more interesting in terms of core mechanic.
As a indie game, the part of gameplay is almost perfect.
Nintendo is a big company so they have enough budget and headcount to recruit more art designer to make more decorations.
Animal Crossing has more advanced visual performance as it is a 3D game but I believe in near future, we will have a new SDV of 3D version ideally.
(Please make it come ture, thanks.)

I agree with you, one hundred percent.

I tried really hard to get into Animal Crossing, but I found the gameplay to be very boring. Even with “time travel” (manipulating the date/time on your Switch to make things go faster).

On the other hand, Stardew Valley has so many fun things to do all the time. The gameplay feels a lot more rewarding, and the personalities of the characters are a lot deeper, especially thanks to the Heart Events.

The fact that ConcernedApe openly allows people to freely mod SDV really adds extra flavor to the game as well. You can essentially customize it to play however you want to.

I think that Nintendo’s strict “no modding“ policy for their games is a huge detriment. I’ve heard that they even frown upon the popular fan-made “Nuzlocke challenge“ for Pokemon games even though it doesn’t involve touching the game’s code at all.

If you read this far, thanks for listening to me rant and rave. As you can tell, I’m passionate about gaming. I do come from a family of gamers, after all. 🎮

SDV is a combination of RPG and SLG (Simulation Game)
There are fascinating stories and challenges.
You pick what you like doing in this game.
You can also ignore what you don't like to do.
I know some players don't feel like raising animals but that is okay.
You can enjoy other parts of the game.

Whereas, Animal Crossing is pure SLG and it works for younger players.
Apart from cute characters and it was developed and published by a big company Nintendo, Animal Crossing is just a mediocre game.

Like you experienced, most of time you just went through repetitions.

I am not saying SDV is perfect because most of SLG come to repetitions in late game.
This is inevitable once you are already a master of the core logic/mechanic of the game.

I just want to say Animal Crossing is not that bad. If Animal Crossing is a pixel game and it was developed by a unknown small studio, it won't be that
tremendously welcomed like this.
