Do sprinklers water over fences?

My next playthrough will be a pretty farm, since I plan on marrying Haley.

Trying to figure out if I can line a fence with flowers, but have the iridium sprinklers on the other side of the fence. The wiki says nothing about this.

If I recall correctly, as long as there's tilled land inside sprinkler's area, they'll always be watered every morning, even if there's objects or untilled land adjacent to it.

Short answer, yes.

I've never tried, but I assume so.

I will also point out that the best sprinklers in the game only have a reach of 2 squares. The sprinkler would need to be right up against the fence to get the square on the other side.

Just as an experiment, I put a section of fence next to an iridium sprinkler, and it watered both the fence and the squares on the other side of the fence.
I also married Haley, and am quite happy with the choice, as her personality does a full 180 degree turn to become totally supportive of her farmer. She also does like to have a cute farm.

Thank you for the confirmation Dr. eeL - all the farms I had with iridium sprinklers were growing ancient fruit, so I didn't really want to destroy any plants to check it out XD
