"Disable flash effects" option should have more effect

The fact that this setting is there is so thoughtful and I absolutely love it! But it only seems to disable lightning in a thunderstorms, leaving the rest of effects unchanged.

There's still flashing when you pick a save from the loading screen, when you plant a bomb, when you take damage, when you eat a stardrop (though the latter one is pretty soft and minimal, but some people might still be affected by it).

I'm well-aware of the Less Flashy Stardew mod, but it doesn't help with most of the things I mentioned. And it stops working from time to time, so it can't be always relied on.

Going to the mines/skull cavern is difficult for me and other photosensitive players. I'd love to see this setting have more effect in-game.

Totally agree. Warp totems, return scepter, opening screen bright yellow everywhere, winter, lava rooms, all can be toned way by mods but not without. I can’t use mods anymore cause I can no longer use a mouse.

Too many flashy effects can be overwhelming, whether in games or in casinos. Some players prefer a more relaxed experience, just like how some casinos focus on gameplay rather than flashy distractions, as seen in https://valismaa-kasiinod.com/arvustused/kasiino-24slots/. A good balance between excitement and comfort makes for the best experience.
I agree with you.
