Linux Cultivate parsnip quest does not work.

I do have mods, but presume that it's not the problem. I started a game trying to get one achievement at a time. Foraging, then fishing, and started farming only after that (and used random start day so my first plants were in late Fall. Well. Now I'm in Spring. Sowed a lot of mixed seeds (Better mixed seeds, too). Got first parsnips. Quest not accepted. Tried with some parsnip seeds. They grow. Nope again. The quest hangs there.
Any way to fix this? I have been waiting to get this before building a coop and crafting a scarecrow (actually I have some rarecrows instead).
