Question Cross platform multiplayer

I'm aware that currently no official cross platform multiplayer is supported, and that finding a way to do so would be practically impossible. But, I was wondering if it could be possible to set such a thing up, be it by mods or software "hacking" of some sort? I play on pc, a friend plays on switch, and we've both been wishing we could share a stardew farm, so I was hoping there may be some way to allow us to do so. Thanks :D

Unfortunately that would require the Switch to be able to be modded as well, which currently isn't possible without a lot of dedication and risk on the part of the person doing it. Crossplay would definitely be a great addition to the game, but with consoles unable to be modded in the way PC and Android can, I just don't see this being a possible solution.

Well...Switch could host and you could use a dedicated launcher to join him (so no add-on).
