Switch Crafting Glitch - v1.6.15

I’ve seen a few other people are having crafting glitches, but this particular one caught me off guard.

I was looking through the advanced crafting menu whilst I had a bunch of random stuff in my inventory, and noticed that deluxe bait was lit up even though I had no moss on me. I selected it to see what would happen and it used my crab pots, of all things, as moss 😅

I’m pretty far into my save and have plenty of accumulated money and resources, so it wasn’t a huge deal to me. But I could definitely see it being annoying early game when every resource is precious - just something to watch out for

Yes I have seen the same issue on my switch as well. Using Same build.

What was alarming to me is it used my horse flute - Once when crafting a Treasure Totem it used my horse flute, and once when crafting Magic Bait it used my horse flute. The only common factor I was able to determine is the bug seems to be related to crafting something that requires Moss.

I've had to repurchase my horse flute 3 times now - since this is a hard item to obtain it's a little frustrating, and horse flutes are not used in any crafting recipes. If I didn't have a large stockpile of qi gems this would be quite upsetting.

Regarding the issues occurring in the Switch version of Stardew Valley v1.6.15 build 11,
I've been investigating them for about a week now.
Here's what I've found out as a result.

Issue Details:
When crafting or cooking, the following "Item Group A" items are incorrectly recognized as "Item Group B" items.
As a result, "Item Group A" items are consumed as materials and the item is created (regardless of whether a workbench is present during crafting).

An interesting point is that items are not misidentified on a 1:1 basis.
Items belonging to "Item Group A" are misidentified as all items within "Item Group B" during crafting.

Item Group A (Materials mistakenly recognized and consumed due to malfunction):
- Torch
- Hay
- Crab Pot
- White Algae / Green Algae
- Sea Jelly / River Jelly / Cave Jelly
- Seaweed
- Coffee
- Oil
- Rice
- Sugar
- Vinegar
- Wheat Flour
- Energy Tonic
- Muscle Remedy
- Field Snack
- Bug Steak
- Tent Kit
- Cookout Kit
- Butterfly Powder
- Prize Ticket
- Golden Animal Cracker
- Lucky Purple Shorts
- Trimmed Lucky Purple Shorts
- Stardrop Tea
- Dragon Tooth
- Fairy Dust
- Horse Flute
- Qi Seasoning
- Enricher
- Pressure Nozzle
- Galaxy Soul
- Blue Grass Starter *1
- Geode / Frozen Geode / Magma Geode / Omni Geode
- Artifact Trove
- Golden Coconut
- Mystery Box / Golden Mystery Box
- Warp Totem: Beach / Warp Totem: Desert / Warp Totem: Farm / Warp Totem: Island / Warp Totem: Mountains
- Rain Totem
- Treasure Totem *1
- All Trinkets
- All Slime Eggs
- All Artifacts / Golden Pumpkin / Treasure Chest / Pearl
- All Catalogues
- All Furnitures / All Wallpapers / All Flooring Types
- Secret Notes
- Berry Basket (in the Linus's Quest)
- Prismatic Jelly (in the Wizard's Special Order Quest)
- Ornate Necklace
- Golden Tag (in the Trout Derby festival)
- Calico Egg
and more Quest Items and Special Items ?

Item Group B (Materials that should be consumed):
- Moss
- Mystic Syrup
- Furnace
- Worm Bin
- Sea Jelly / River Jelly / Cave Jelly

*1:
Since Blue Grass Starter or Treasure Totem crafting materials include moss and mystic syrup from Item Group B,
simply performing this crafting consecutively will ultimately leave only one item remaining. (wasting materials)

If you want to craft a large number of Blue Grass Starters or Treasure Totems, the following precautions are necessary:
1. Do not use a workbench
2. Empty your inventory
3. Place the required materials in the bottom-right slot of your inventory
4. Perform consecutive crafting actions
5. Be careful, as once materials run out, the crafting will start consuming the Blue Grass Starters or Treasure Totems themselves

Incidentally, due to this bug, the Treasure Totem can now be crafted using only Hardwood and Torch.
