Linux Cookout Kit issue

Cookout Kit does not act as a light source even though it is clearly a campfire. Also, the kit gets destroyed when you use a pickaxe on it. The expected behavior is for it to pop out to go into your inventory like the campfire.

OS: Ubuntu 24.04.1 LTS
Game Version: BETA 1.6.9 - Single Player
In-Game Language: English

That's pretty much just down to a small qol fix more than anything, it's not like the kit even lasts overnight

No, it is intended to be temporary and single use (as in placed a single time, you can cook unlimited things on it), any tool use on it will permanently break it and it doesn't last overnight. This is meant to balance it somewhat.

If it needs balancing then maybe only let it cook simple meals from basic ingredients. It is just a cookpot over a campfire not a full kitchen. The fact it goes away overnight kills any desire for me to build it at all. I seriously considered it disappearing a bug because no other thing I place in my farm does that.

There are plenty of single use items in the game tho, this one just happens to be something you put on the floor, like fertilizer.

Placeable furniture is not the same thing as fertalizer but I get it. Y'all are okay with the cookpot disappearing overnight. Got it.

It would defeat the purpose of a kitchen. What level is the thing unlocked at these days anyways?

In my post above I suggested that maybe the cookpot could just cook a limited selection of foods using basic ingredients to balance it so that it can stay a permanent object. Like a bean hotpot, algae soup, pale broth, moss soup, and fried eggs or something. The entire reason I made this post because I found the cookpot disappearing so bizarre I thought it was a bug. For me tho, I will not be using it because I hate wasting resources on disappearing furniture.

Now I know the disappearing is intended behaviour. Got it. I understand.

I wouldn't look at it as disappearing furniture, because it se that's not what it is, it's a single use item that allows you to cook for a day. Do I think it's perfect? No. But if you don't want to use it that's ur call
