Contemplating Divorce

Greetings fellow citizens of Pelican Town!

I've recently picked the game back up after quite a few years of hardly playing it, and have actually made substantial progress, along with having great fun, but more on that another time.
I have arrived to the forums with a slightly less joyful topic, divorce. :defeated:
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For the past few Stardew Valley years, and around 6 IRL years I have been happily married to Abigail, but recently, with time I feel as though something has changed.
I no longer feel all that I did for Abigail all those years ago, and therefore have been thinking about the possibility of divorce.
Just a moment ago I thought I had made up my mind, I would march into Lewis' house and fill the paperwork first thing in the morning, but... I couldn't bring myself to do it, not after the brief yet sweet and caring chat I had with Abigail as I was making my way outside.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Although I don't really want to be married to Abigail anymore, I also just hate the idea of breaking her heart by divorcing her... :heartbroken: :sweat:
I am aware of the methods of "cleaning up" a former spouse's memory, but even that feels wrong on a moral level.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Should I just metaphorically rip off the band-aid and let it happen? :hmm:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit: Brief afterthoughts I forgot to mention;
- I slightly feel as though I'd be letting myself from 6 years back down, I worked hard for this marriage, and now I'd just end it off, just like that, quite some "Till death do us part." amirite...
- Then again, I do feel like Sebastian's the better fit for Abigail anyways, always kind of felt like I was intruding into what they had going on, poor guy just sits on his computer all day, alone...

I personally never divorce my spouses, but I marry a different one every playthrough
So in your situation I'd just create a new farm with a new person to marry in mind, but I understand that it would take a long time till you actually get to marry them, so if you really want it right now then divorce is your only option I think.

I considered this, but knowing that I have :clock: 130+ hours on this save, I really would not want to start another until I have reached Perfection, that's the goal at least. :bird:
