Console 1.5 Co-op Question

When the console 1.5 update launches, I was wondering if other players could join in on the local co-op session? To clarify, could say, two people using a local session on the Switch be able to invite another player onto their farm that would be connecting over multiplayer(not on local connection)? 2 split screen co-op + 1 over internet multiplayer?

Sorry if this has been stated before, but couldn't find the answer.

This is possible in 1.5 on PC, so I would imagine it will work on console too, but we won't know for sure until the update is out.

Now that update 1.5 have finally come to the consoles, and I haven't had the time to try yet, is it possible to have 3-4 people on a farm with 2 Switches?
First Switch = local co-op
Second Switch = able to join that local co-op farm?

Unfortunately this does not appear to be possible on console. It's local co-op or online multiplayer, you can't do both.
