confusing wording

for the mining skills at level 10 doubling coal and geodes it says "chance to find x doubled" that could mean either chance of finding x is doubled, or chance to find double of x (like the chance to find gems in pairs)

for the mining skills at level 10 doubling coal and geodes it says "chance to find x doubled" that could mean either chance of finding x is doubled, or chance to find double of x (like the chance to find gems in pairs)
...in the end it's the same anyway, right?
But for me, "chance to find x doubled" doubles the chance, not the findings. Otherwise one would say "chance to find doubles of x" or "chance to find double x...".

For the coal actually it is more like a 20% increase as it only regards regular rocks that drop coal and not the other ones so you really shouldn't expect that much of an increase for an overall SC trip.
I think the geode one works like the coal but I'm not sure the spawning algorithm, so instead of having double drops them you get a higher chance.
A reasoning thing for this is that the gemologist profession which increases gems also increases geodes and having basically 2 of the same skill is not a great design choice, especially when you can only have those 2 at a given time for mining.

anyway. the reason I thought it could be worded that way is because you are already able to find 2 of them from single rock drops, so if it said "chance to find x in pairs" that doesn't really mean anything. chance to find x doubled could mean the same thing but the grammar counts in that it could go from 2 to 4
