Hello there,
I would like to raise an issue about the Chinese localisation of one line said by Demetrius in the game.
On the first time every player met Demetrius, he greeted the player with "Greetings! I'm Demetrius, local scientist and father". In the simplified Chinese version of the game, the word "father" was translated to "神父" a Chinese word that usually referred to "a male clergyman/priest of Christian church". Many Chinese players therefore naturally took Demetrius as the head of the Yoba church and the leader of religious life in Pelican Town. However, based on my experience with the game (I've played through at least once all heart events of Deme's family members) I believed Deme used the word "father" to signify his role as the parent of Maru and Seb, instead of meaning he prayed for Yoba:
- I believe a lot of heart events and quests around Demetrius and his families were about how Demetrius wanted to be a good father in Robin's family, especially he struggled with developing a normal relationship with Seb or Maru;
- Demetrius was one of the few characters who, based on my knowledge, hardly had anything to do with Yoba. He was never present at Yoba's altar on Sunday (I doubt he ever visited there); and he rarely quoted Yoba in either his daily or event-only dialogs.
Can someone and better if possible, the development team of the game, clarify the meaning of "father" when Demetrius used the word? If my theory was correct (that "father" means a family's father), I hope the Chinese localisation could be patched in the next update to resolve this confusion circulating within the Chinese player community.
Thanks in advance for any help!
