Lots of people like sheds. You can also put them in coops and barns. Small footprint in the farm but big interiors.

If your game isn't modded (hasn't changed any of the main maps), there is a pathing page on the main wiki that shows where you can put chests so they aren't destroyed by villagers. You can put them pretty much anywhere.

Sheds are good for big volume Chest storage but when you have issues with object permanence like me, hiding things away is not efficient. Plus the entry and exit animation is... fine? But I don't want to see it like 50 times a day when managing things to and from my storage. Because there are 3 lines of stuff in a fully loaded Backpack Inventory and... well I mentioned the object permanence thing. Maybe it's inattention blindness as well. Isn't modern day great when we come up with so many excessively long and creative words for 'thick' or 'lazy'?

Instead I design my Farm with a quickly accessible outdoor area for my Chest Garden. Make this area a design feature and quickly accessible from all directions. I tend to target the area between the Farmhouse and Bus Stop exit and place the Chest Maze just below there. There's room on most Farm Maps and it's not distracting to a nice design elsewhere. Sometimes I'll hide part of it behind a building like a Barn/Coop/Hutch but that's mostly for space or wider Farm design convenience.

Where should I put my chests? I've color coded them and have them in front of my house but there's so many I don't know where to put them.
I like my chests wherever I use them and my main storage chests around my house then inside of it.
It’s easy to access and there are like 4+* methods to “teleport” home so it’s a great hub

*depends on what you count as teleport and differentiating those other methods
