Chest is able to destroy items?

So I´m wondering if this happened to someone else. As you can see on the screenshot, I placed three items on the right of my bed. Above the bed is the aquarium, which blocks the gap above those items. Before I took this screenshot, in place of the berry-bush, there was my singing stone. I wanted to put items into the chest in the middle and the moment I opened the chest, the singing stone got destroyed. After I experienced the destruction of the item I restarted the day and decided to put it somehwere else, just in case I accidently go to sleep on a missclick again.
I put the berry-bush where the singing stone was and decided to experiment with this. It appears that big items, such as the bush or the stone, get destroyed the moment the "lid" of the chest touches it (when opened), but with smaller items, like the little lamp (you can see it beneath the chest in the screenshot) are not affected. I tried it 5 times, 3 times the singing stone/bush got destroyed the momend I clicked on it OR the chest, but 2 times nothing happened.
I´m really not sure what this means, besides of moving my chest of course and not touching the right side of my bed.
Is there a fix to this? Do I get my items back that got destroyed like this? ( I accidently got to sleep, after my other bush (not seen in the image) got deleted. I mean I can always get it from Pierre next year, but still : (

Edit: It only happens if I put all 3 items into the gap, chest in the middle and something else below

This seems like a bug, it really shouldn't choose between which item to break depending on the size as nothing should break! You probably won't get any items back if they're not unique so unfortunately you'll probably need to wait until next year's festival to get another copy of the destroyed bush.

Hopefully the mods can move this to the Help & Bug Reports section so it can be looked at.
