Solved Chest by Willy's Disappeared

We put a chest on the dock by Willy's to store fish and beach foraging, and it randomly disappeared. Any idea what happened or where to find it?

Willy probably trampled it, when going down the dock, to go fishing.

As mentioned above, if a chest is in the way of a villager, they will walk through it, breaking the chest. Any items inside should be left in the spot where the chest was. For more information on how to avoid this issue, see https://stardewvalleywiki.com/Chest#Chests_outside_the_farm. The images there show you which spots are generally safe to place a chest or other item on, note that the spaces in the images with items in them are the safe spots, while the empty spaces show you where villagers walk.
