It´ll show real character development, and the players could perceive that their actions really improve the caracters´ life. And the suggestion could be extended to all the characters in game. Even the Dwarf and Krobus could star hanging out as friends late at night once we reach full friendship with them.

I think this could be a real positive for teens and tweens who play. I think both relapsing might be more accurate, but might also promote sense of hopelessness to help. Especially with Shane being marriageable. Seeing that improvement might really help them seeing their sense of achievement in really making a difference in another human life.
