Can't Put Rainbow Shell in Train Station Box

I've used different rainbow shells, rebooted my computer, restarted Stardew Valley multiple times, but every time I try to put the shell in the box on the station platform, I get "It's an empty box." Any suggestions, or is this character toast for perfection, since I won't be able to enter the casino and purchase the final scarecrow?

Can you screenshot what you're trying to do? Did you fulfill the quest before?

If I'm remembering right there's a couple boxes in that area, try a different one? Also yeah a screenshot would be good.

I did complete the request before, because the first quest is putting the battery in the tunnel box, then it says to put a rainbow shell in the train station box. I've tried all my rainbow shells. I've played Stardew Valley through many, many, MANY times and never had this issue. May just be a glitch in this character for some reason.

I figured it out. I must have restarted the day when I put the battery in the tunnel box. Sometimes when I have a REALLY bad Stardew day I cheat and redo the day. So, since the day wasn't in my saved file, the note I saw that day is no longer valid. Just put the battery in the tunnel box and it has worked. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks for the input. :c)
