Answered Can't move southwest/northwest (S/W+A) diagonally when pressing UP ARROW+RIGHT ARROW simultaneously [Windows]

I'm using a Snapdragon Windows laptop (WoA), so I'm not sure if this is an issue with running SV on Windows on ARM.

I was having trouble passing the first level of JotPK because the controls felt off. Initially, I thought it was input lag due to SV running on Prism emulation, but I found a consistent pattern with the problem. As mentioned in the title, I also tried it outside of the mini-game and successfully reproduced the issue. My character can't move southwest or northwest (using S/W + A) when I simultaneously press UP ARROW + RIGHT ARROW. Instead, I can shoot diagonally, but my character only moves north when pressing W + A or south when pressing S + A—there's no horizontal movement.

Has anyone else encountered the same problem?

Edit: Added some hardware details after reading the guidelines + attached my save file

I play a couple of games with KB only and the very keyboard I'm typing on doesn't support N-Key rollover so I need to connect another KB and use that when needing to chord 4+ keys at once.

Edit: This KB passed the test when I pressed W A S D and then ' and / which I use in another game and it passed with a 6 keys pressed. But when I started pressing the keys in a different sequence, I could get a minimum of 2 keys:

D and '

simultaneously pressed before this crud KB stopped receiving input from any other keys on the KB. Failing N-key rollover can be situationally-based like this.

Hi! The game should be fine with simultaneous input like W + A + Up + Right (and I just tested that successfully on Windows x64). Some keyboards don't support pressing many keys at once though; you can try this key rollover test to see if that's the issue for you.
Hello, thank you for sending over the rollover test!

After trying it, it's indeed a limitation of my cheap Logitech keyboard which is unfortunate, but the weird part is that it can't do A/D when I'm pressing UP + RIGHT. That's just like 2 active keys. Meanwhile, I can do 7 keys on some certain combinations.

My keyboard seems to have a similar limitation. One workaround you can try is to remap key commands from problem ones (Up and Right) to modifier keys, like R Shift and R Crtl, even Enter. This may kill your ergonomics so it's not a great solution, but try it out as it may be good enough for your uses.

I'm trying to do Fector's Challenge and not being able to do horizontal while on UP + RIGHT is really messing up my flow 😅

I just have so much muscle memory for WASD that I think I won't be able to play SV anymore if I remap the default controls. Buying a better keyboard is probably a better aim for me.
