Cant get Tiger Trout

I'm trying to get a Tiger Trout to finish the community center but I can't find it anywhere, so is there a way I can summon it with a cheat code? [I'm playing on the switch] I'm not really good at fishing.

Are you in the correct season and place? It's only available in fall and winter, and you can only catch it in the river, either in town or in the cindersap forest.

Otherwise, you'll have to hope for it to appear for sale on the cart

I tried doing it during those seasons and all I got were periwinkle and perch.

Are you using a training rod? You'll need to swap to another rod if you are. I couldn't catch a largemouth bass for the longest time because of that. If that's not the issue, along with the traveling cart, you also have a chance to get it from Krobus on Wednesdays if you have the rusty key. That's how I got my first sturgeon!

When I was stuck waiting until fall for a sea cucumber to make a lucky lunch for trash bear, Krobus had tiger trout almost every week!

Unfortunately on the switch you can't use cheat codes, mods or anything like that, the most you can do on the switch in terms of game personalization is enter a seed, and that won't help you with this kind of thing. If you do want to do that sort of stuff such as spawn in items, you would want to be playing on PC. If you follow the advice other people have already given here you should catch it just fine on the switch.

You also mentioned periwinkle, which can only be caught in a crab pot. If you're trying to use one of those to catch your fish, you won't have any luck because you can't catch actual fish in there.
