Can't access bear's shop

Hello!
I'm well off into my 5th year in SVE and I'd like to achieve perfection. However, I'm missing a few recipes that are sold at the bear's shop. I did the Maple Syrup task a while back, but only recently I've realized there's a shop in that cave. I'm not able to access the shop - I go to the cave entrance and no matter what I do (hitting x, space or trying to place the syrup), I can't get the shop. Is there anything I can do to fix this? My next step was to try it with a new game but I need to master the energy.

How frustrating! I don't know if this is helpful, but you can never enter the bear's cave. You click on it, and he lists the things you can buy. I'm not sure he's there all the time, but in the daytime I've always found him to be there. That bear's prices are high, though! So frustrating!!!
