Can you forfeit an action point?

Can you throw away an action point by starting in a location and using one action point, moving to a second location and harvesting along the path, and then forfeiting your second action point at the second location? Example: Start your turn at the River Fishing spot, use an action to fish a fish, move to Visit Marnie and forage along the path, then forfeit your second action point and return home instead of buying animals.

Yes! Page twelve of the rule book says, “A player is not required to take an action.” I’ve found myself doing this exact thing. Trying to get the remaining foragables before season end even though I had no business being at the action location.
