Can I use the Cabin as my own?

Hey all. Question about the Multiplayer and the Cabin, can I host an existing single farm to a multiplayer and if so, how?

I want to use the Cabin as another second home. My plan is to build Cabin in my farm, use another phone to remove the bed and the parsnips (and maybe upgrade it later on), so the Cabin is essentially mine to decorate if I put my bed in if possible lol

Or... is this even possible or other way to do this? I just really want another house to decorate and put stuffs in...

You can't remove or place a bed in your farmhand's cabin, so you'll need to use the second phone for that and any house upgrades. Otherwise, you're free to use the cabin as your own. You can even sleep in it (or a shed). Just know that if you pass out (even in the cabin) you will wake in the first bed placed in the farmhouse.

I've done this with a fair few cabins before. You will need the other farmer to do any upgrades, house renovations, and need them to remove the parsnips box from lewis and the bed they own.

After that, the house is basically your own, you can put almost anything in there and it's good, compact storage or a place to put machines, it's very dense space-wise for the amount it takes up on the farm so they're great (though a bit expensive).

Yes, no problem. Just go to Robin and build a cabin. You can put a bed in and sleep there but your mail will be delivered to the original farm house.

Thanks you for the information. I have few plans for it in the future, though mostly since I'm marrying Sam, I kinda want Alex, Shane and Leah to be in my farm too. So hopefully I could borrow two more phones lol

Also I can't seem to figure out how to make my singleplayer farm into a multiplayer. I can host a new farm, but I want my existing farm to have the cabins. Can someone help please?

You’ll need another farmer to marry the spouses.

to make your farm multiplayer, go to Robin and build a cabin. Then save and start the game in coop.

Ahh so I have to build the Cabin first. Got it. I thought it's just going to pop up in the Co-op menu, thanks again 😁

Yep, that's the plan. I'm borrowing mom's phone long enough to marry Alex. I should have their love gifts by then. I will need other another phone for Shane and Leah, but that's future me's problem lol

You actually have the construct the cabin unless you explicitly start a new game with the starter cabins. They're cheap as they're 'subsidized by the zuzu city building initiative' or something along those lines. Only 100g and a handful of basic resources each.

Then just sleep to save the game and you can launch in multiplayer and have others join.

Another tip, you can join yourself, no need to bother with other peoples devices, if you want me to explain just reply and I can.

Yes, I managed to make my trial save to a multiplayer, and it worked so I know what to do now.

There's a way to join myself? Yes please, I'd appreciate the help. I've been experimenting with VPNs and App Cloners, but none of them are working 🥲

1.6 eliminated the resurces, so they're only 100 gold each now! And it added a few new cabin designs.
Ah look at that, I've been playing a bit too much 1.5 recently it seems, that's pretty cool.

Ok absolutely.
So:
1. Launch the game regularly from steam, this will allow you to only launch the game once but it's the easiest to keep track of as the baseline so this will be your 'main' character that you'll be hosting from
2. Open the game from multiplayer as usual (if you haven't made cabins do that whole set of steps first)
3. Now we're going to find the executable the game uses to actually launch, this isn't exactly tricky to find but it's pretty deep in your files, I only know how to find this for windows but if you're on other platforms the process as a whole won't be dissimilar, it'll just require some digging of your own
4. Open file explorer, then open the folders listed below in the exact order (and don't get distracted by similar names as there are a few similar routes you can go down that lead you to entirely different locations):
--> This pc --> OS (C:) --> Program files (x86) --> Steam --> steamapps --> Common --> Stardew Valley
(This folder is where your game files are located, not the save files, the actual files where the game itself is stored)
5. Scroll down in this folder until you find a .exe file named "Stardew Valley", it is the only file with an icon that matches the actual stardew icon (a white chicken)
6. When you run this file (confirm if any popups come up) it'll launch the game, you can open this as many times as you want, though it can get confusing navigating through all of them, that's why I recommend using the steam app as your base one and not opening too many instances at once
7. Now you can enter the second instance and join yourself through IP, the actual multiplayer process is very simple

Hope this helped, ask if you have any questions

Thank you for taking your time to explain... I only have Stardew on mobile though, that's why I've been borrowing mom's phone, I don't really have the game on my laptop yet. Does this method work on Android too? I know how to access my save files, but not my game files. Or is there a way for Android to join myself?

Ah unfortunately it does not as far as I know, you will need to use other devices like you originally planned, sorry it wasn't of much help
