Can’t Combine Rubies With The Infinity Sword On Console

I’ve been trying to figure out why I can’t upgrade my Infinity Blade with Rubies. When I go to the forge, the Rubies are grayed out and unavailable for use. Has anyone else experienced this, or does anyone know a fix?

2 options:
1. You don't have cinder shards, you need them to forge, and the amount increases for each gem (up to the cap of 3 gems)
2. You already forged it with something, most likely a diamond which only costs 10 shards but fills the cap of 3 slots.

If you did the latter and want to reforge with better gems, put the sword into the forge then press the little red 'x' on the bottom right which will unforge the sword (but won't turn it to a galaxy sword, or affect enchantments, don't worry), then you can reforge with pure rubies again

The only reason I can think of is you don't have enough Cinder Shards.
Otherwise, the Infinitely Blade won't be gray.
Take 10 Cinder Shards to forge/fuse your weapons.
If you have 60 Cinder Shards, that will be perfect to upgrade any weapons.

The conclusion is incorrect as well.
Please ignore the statement. THX.

I tested this case again this morning.
The player is supposed to put at least 5 ruby gems to the slot to forge.
That means you should put 5 rubies and 20 Cinder Shards simultaneously.
Otherwise, the rubies in the slot will be gray and the button for forging will be deactivated.

Here is a screenshot provided by a Stardew Valley theme Youtuber.

Please ignore the advice above as the testing result is wrong.

Sorry to update one more time.
If you blade has been forged.
You should unforge first.
Otherwise, you are unable to forge your weapon.

There is no need to put 5 rubies into the slot.
The only reason why your forge button is gray is because your blade has been forged.
So you should unforge that and then re-forge .

That is completely wrong information, you only need to use 1 gem per tier and the prices in cinder shards go up for each tier, 10 for the first, 15 for the second, 20 for the third. There is no requirement to put more gems in, nor does it consume more than one gem no matter what you do.
Your statement about the forging button not being 'active' with less than 5 is also blatantly false too, please when you say you do 'testing this case', actually do said testing instead of claiming something you saw on a youtube video, it adds false credibility.

So I'm not myself not offering proof, here is a screenshot of the forging button being active when only a single ruby is even in my inventory to begin with, and it allows forging perfectly fine. This was checked on pc on a 1.6 patch so it's not outdated information (not that forging really changed in any regard past innate enchants which are tangential to begin with).

Please for anyone watching, do not use stardew valley youtube for anything but enjoyment content, there is almost zero value in all but a couple channels and even those often have mistakes, I myself have seen many common mathematical errors or falsehoods in youtube videos from creators people praise like salmence and blade so no one is immune (not even myself in my own written claims, always be diligent).

(and yes I saw your comment correcting that part but you also didn't delete the original message so I just wanted to put out the disclaimer and correction regardless)

Thanks for remiding me.
I did make a huge mistake.
I have added strike-through mark on my original conclusion.

I think the reason why my testing result was wrong was because my blade wasn't forged at the beginning.
The intial status can be forged to new combat enchantment.
And actually the 5 rubies I put only consumed one.
That meant I only upgraded my weapon once.
Theoretically this can be upgraded 3 times.

Therefore I tested that again at noon.
I unforged my weapon and then put one ruby and 10 Cinder Shards for the first time/15 Cinder shards for the second time /20 Cinder shards for the third time.
Finally the damage value was upgraded to maximum.

Here is the screenshop I captured from my own game.
I sincerely apology for my misleading.

No problem at all, I'm thankful you crossed out that original message and even went to verify the data properly for yourself, pretty much as well as any internet conversation could ever go so I'm happy!
