Title:
Suggestion: Add “Call the Shopkeeper” Feature When They're Inside the House
Message:
Hi ConcernedApe and Stardew Valley community!
I want to suggest a small but helpful feature to improve the experience when visiting shops.
---
The Problem:
Sometimes, a shop is technically open (e.g. Pierre’s shop from 9 AM to 5 PM), but the shopkeeper isn’t at the counter — they’re in another room (like the kitchen or bedroom). This can be frustrating, especially when you're on a tight in-game schedule and need to buy something quickly.
---
The Idea: “Call the Shopkeeper”
If the shop is open and the owner is still inside the building (not gone outside), let players press a button or ring a bell to call the shopkeeper back to the counter. Similar to real life when we say:
> “Excuse me, is anyone here?”
or knock politely when a store owner is in the back.
If the shopkeeper is available, they can walk back to their position and reopen the shop UI.
---
Bonus Feature – Ask About Their Schedule
When you meet a shopkeeper outside their store (like at a festival or walking around town), let players ask:
> “What time are you open tomorrow?”
or
“Are you selling today?”
This adds more realism and helps players plan ahead.
---
Why This Feature Makes Sense:
It's realistic: We can call store owners in real life.
It's immersive: Fits perfectly in a close-knit town like Pelican Town.
It’s convenient: Saves time and avoids confusion.
It doesn't break balance: Just improves quality of life.
---
Thank you for the amazing game and for always listening to the community
I hope this suggestion is helpful!
