Cabin upgrades?

I am itching to axe most of my Big Sheds and replace them with Cabins. They have more than triple the space, for machines.

I know the drill; needs multi and another player joining in.

So, long story short... Can i do the following?

1) Player joins, uses my (host) materials, upgrades cabin fully.
2) Player who joins, is deleted.
3) New player joins, uses my (host) materials, upgrades ANOTHER cabin fully.
4) Player who joins, is deleted.
5) Rinse and repeat, until 7 cabins are done.

Is that possible, or will i need 7 DIFFERENT players join my game, all at once? And bonus question; does the extra player have to stay in-game, until the upgrade is finished, or only tasking Robin with it is enough?

Your second player will need to play through the days while Robin works on the upgrades. You can both sleep through the days or they can just stand there while you play, but if they aren't connected, Robin doesn't work on their cabin.

I'm not familiar with how to do multiple cabins; maybe someone else can fill you in?

I'm not a professional but if you make another player join it will automaticly add that player in charge of the avalible cabin so think that you will need 7 account for 7 cabin I dont know so don't confirm it yet just my thoughts.

I have tinkered with multiple cabins before... but at least on the switch I've never seen the ability to go beyond more than 3 other cabins because a cabin is intrinsically tied to the being of another farm help player... like destroyed cabin, destroyed human farmer. (I don't think you can create a new profile any other way once you reach 3 otherwise...)

You can have an unlinked cabin (with no player attached), but once you have a player active, it's a two-in-one bundle - you get both or you get none. Human lives, cabin lives.

Yep that pretty much works, you don't even have to delete the characters either, there's a cap on the cabins of 8 (without messing with files) and a technical infinite amount of possible characters so they aren't a limiting factor

Mogbeoulve already mentioned the second character having to stay online while the house upgrades (which is true, same goes for tool upgrades), though I will give another tip. Have the player remove the bed of their cabin, or move it to the final place you want it, you aren't able to move around certain items like beds in another characters cabin even if that character is deleted, so having it removed is just easier to deal with.

Also, if on PC you can literally just join yourself (and on console/pc just use local splitscreen and pilot both characters), maybe a little more of a hassle but requesting the cabins takes a while (waiting for robins to open so many times as well as the whole joining/character creation process), so unless you have someone willing to spend like 20 odd minutes per cabin with you then that's the best option.

I am really super grateful! You always help out, with inside-out details and are both an invaluable asset, as well as an exemplary forum pal!

Please pardon me, only one final question; Since i am on PC, how can i join myself? (i only tried two pcs in lan with split-screen, so far)

I'm glad I'm able to help

As for your question - and don't feel like you're asking too many, I don't mind at all - I just wrote up a whole process on how to join oneself on pc here:

(tell me if the link works - I may adapt it into a post later but for now it's just a comment)
