From ConcernedApe's Twitter, he announced that he is now self publishing on Android, meaning that Stardew Valley is self-published by him on all platforms:
There are no changes beyond his self-publishing, and the mobile update for Stardew Valley will come out eventually (unfortunately, still no ETA).
He also held a casual Q&A and answered plenty of questions, some serious, some silly! I encourage you to go through the thread and read his answers to people. Some relevant news that people may be interested in:
- CA is hard at work on Haunted Chocolatier and would like to bring some news updates, but he wants things to move forward with mobile 1.5 (x)
- Mobile 1.5 is still hard at work and the process to go forward with it has been complicated. He says there's a legal/business issue he can't get into, having a new team work on the update, and deadlines or setbacks due to being unfamiliar with the game's code or underestimating the difficulty (x)
- There is a next update for Stardew Valley that will come out at least after mobile 1.5 does (x)
- The next update for Stardew Valley is mostly modding focused, making the game much easier to mod, but there may be some added content (x)
- There's no guarantee, but Stardew Valley may continue to get content updates in the future (x)
- Being able to move your house and the pet area is likely to be in a future content update (x)
