I was in the mine with a full inventory and opened that menu. I tried to put wood in the slot but it wouldn't let me put it in. I picked up slime from the floor which then made it so i couldn't leave the menu and i had to restart my game. Not sure if there's any other way i could have left the menu but that's all that worked for me.
