PC [BUG] Slime Charmer ring not working

Hi i have been playing stardew valley for a while, and now I got two combined rings. You can see its a iridium band + crab shell and iridium band + slime charmer ring. but for some odd reason, I got the slime effect. Isnt the slime charmer ring supposed to make you immune to both slime attacks and the slime effect?

Note: I did not take off the ring, and this is the first time it happened in the dangerous mines

the rebounding slime bits from the slime towers can give you the slime effect if it hits you, which is likely the cause.
