PC [BUG] Game crashing on launch

First: I play through steam and have hundreds of hours over multiple years of playing this game with no mods and no substantial issues until now. My laptop runs Windows 10 and I'm not sure of other specs because I'm not a computer person but as I said the game has worked for HUNDREDS of hours and even ran just the other day but now it crashes after about a second on the first loading screen (concerned ape with clicking noises). It tells me it'll give me a report of what went wrong but never does. Also who knows if this is related but every time I launch it it asks me if I want to let steam make changes but this is the only game it happens with. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, verifying integrity of game files, and a couple other fixes I've found (although I can't guarantee I did them right lol). Please let me know if you guys have any sort of fix for this thanks <3

If you check %appdata%/StardewValley/ErrorLogs , are there any files there associated with this crash?

no folder called errorlogs in the appdata folder. not sure what changed but today it’s working! i’ll update the thread if it happens again thanks for helping <3

It sounds like more of an issue with your hardware or operating system. Is there free space on your hard drive? Do you have any kind of antivirus software running? If so, try "whitelisting" Stardew Valley in the software.
