Switch [BUG] friend with a switch cannot join any co-op servers or share host server code

basically the title. my online friend and i want to play stardew valley together; i'm on pc, she's on switch. when i host a server, i can easily see the join code in settings and when i enter the game. my friend, however, does not have the option to join a LAN game or enter a server code. it's just a blank screen with a refresh button that doesn't work. she can host servers, but when she's in settings looking for a code, there's no code tab like there is when i host a server. it doesn't tell her the code when she joins the game either.

this only happened after she updated to the new patch. she was completely able to join and host servers with other people before this. we tried restarting the game and the switch multiple times, as well as letting it sit for a few hours and coming back, but no dice. thanks in advance.
