Windows [BUG] Deluxe Scarecrow doesn't protect properly

I have just crafted and placed my first Deluxe Scarecrow ever, but some crops within it's area (according to the wiki) have been eaten by crows

My game is modded and I am using my own slightly modified farm map, but none of the mods affects scarecrows in any way and the affected tiles are not edited from vanilla.

As you can see in the attached screenshot there are two cauliflowers missing, one near the top, one slighty to the left of the irrigated area, and the rice just SW of the chest to the right was eaten and replaced the day before, all of which is within the protected range of the scarecrow. Though I have mods for additional crops, all of the missing crops are vanilla crops.

Edit: I just noticed the bug report "crops randomly disappering" which is probably related, but I have never had this issue using the standard scarecrow or rarecrows.

Your scarecrow needs to be placed three spaces to the right for full coverage. The stuff in the upper right corner and is out of range, actually.

Yes, I noticed that I had misplaced my scarecrow a bit, placing the last 3,2,1 and 1 crops respectively out of the scarecrows range. I initally remembered its cover range being an octagon just like the standard scarecrow. When my first crop went missing I checked the wiki and noticed my mistake. As you can see, I have plenty scarecrow/rarecrows that I can use temporarily to cover the top right corner until I have harvested the crop where the Deluxe Scaredrow should have been. There are also eight trellis crops the are out of range. But the crops in question are still within the scarecrows range, even with my misplacement in mind

Now a few days later crops that are just outside a standard scarecrows range have been eaten, which suggest that a deluxe scarecrow protection range is exactly the same as a standard scraecrows range, despite it being described as having a larger range. (The crop next to the rice from the earlier screen shot is in fact also just outside the standard scarecrows range)
