I am on version 1.5.1 with no mods. I have moved the bed one tile up than normal and it now seems the bed cover is covering the entirety of the child. It's hard to see in the picture but you can faintly see the hair outline near where my character is standing. Normally, you can see the child's head but it's now entirely covered. I think child is one tile too low. See picture.
