Hey! I saw people making Stardew Valley OC'S and I decided to join. Meet my angst-filled old man:
THE GROUNDSKEEPER; Bohemas Tordak! (Bow- He- Mahs . Tour - Dak)
(Dateable/Marriable with heart events for, marriage, divorce, moving in together or having children. Information of backstory, and everything about that leading up to it. This is just general information, anything else I will post if anyone is interested, which I highly doubt, but he has more to him than meets the eye. I will update more about this if it gets traction. This will be the basis of how I will write OC's, like you get to know them as the player would, through interacting more.)
GENERAL INFORMATION;
Physical Description:
An older Man with incredibly pale and almost withered skin, giving him a very sickly malnourished look. He has dark black graying hair. It is long and inky often tied in a bun on his head. He has facial stubble that grows in, looking akin to the color mix of salt and pepper, but often it will be no more than patchy stubble. He has deep eyes bags and frown lines, making him look older than he actually is. His eyes are exhausted and often glum, little light in them. Despite them being a radiant deep blue like the sky or ocean for example, they show little of what is going on in his mind, often times he looks robotic and cold. On warmer days he sports a dark brown undershirt, with deep blue denim overalls that are sun bleached from long usage. Funnily enough, they have a very cute little embroidered flower pattern on the breast and back pockets. (Other outfits locked for now.)

Backstory: ?????
Extra: He is not particularly friendly with the inhabitants of pelican town, in fact just mentioning him to NPC's can make them grow uncomfortable, or in some cases, even a bit annoyed Abigail, Marlon, Hailey, Shane, Sebastian, and sometimes Jodi or Robin. ( For example, Harvey: "Just looking at him makes me feel depressed... I hope that isn't rude to say..." Sam: "I.. I think maybe he just needs to find something to smile about you know? He doesn't really get along with others I mean.... He kind of looks a little dreary. Maybe he should pay a visit to Harvey." Maru: "Who? Oh! Mr. Tordak? I can't say I am well acquainted with him he tends be be a bit reclusive, and I don't really know if I would like to change that personally. But do as you please." *Awkward smile*. Even Emily describes him as "Uh.. well he isn't too weird just.. off putting. And he is always doing something. I bet he's nice though! Just.. strange." ) He isn't scary looking like Marlon for example, but often times he can look rather unapproachable. He will stare at you blankly if you attempt to make conversation so.. maybe be a bit patient with him for that to change.
Difficult to befriend, marry, or gain hearts?: YES... but not impossible. (And worth it, because I can make him as cool as I want to. And I hate how so many love interests kind of do nothing around the farm, and also I like the idea of another NPC who just goes around working hard and foraging like the farmer player character.)
He is a brooding and relatively silent middle aged man, who is known as the Groundskeeper for hire around Pelican Town, many NPC's wont talk about him in a positive light except Mayor Lewis, Linus, Marnie, Jas, and Vincent, who will speak of him short and curt, but more friendly. (Often times just being a bit less hard on him, but only Linus really speaks about him like a friend. Linus: "Oh? Yeah he is my rather silent chum if you will. *Hearty Laugh.* He doesn't talk much so he's a good listener, don't listen to other people though. He is just a bit rough around the edges. But he is nothing but a giant help to me, and a good roommate." ) The players first encounter with him is after the fourth day of summer, quite a while after starting the game actually. Just around 7;40 A.M the player can see as he silently trims bushes in the mountains, around where Linus and his camp can be found. He isn't rude or unfriendly, often times you can just follow him around as he tends to general cleanliness and upkeep of the land, he walks all around town, the mountains, beach, and can even be found on the outskirts of your farm. He sleeps outside of Linus' tent, often times silently arguing with Linus about sleeping in the tent with him, Linus exclaiming 'he is stubborn and will freeze out there'. (Not in a weird way, Linus just cares about him and Bohemas is too awkward to sleep in the same tent as Linus, which is funny with how close Linus says they are.) He will routinely drop anything he cleans up, basically doing free yard work for you. (Including: Pulling weeds, digging out clay, stones, seeds, or acorns from the dirt, trimming grass, and even dropping ores he will find if you follow him for long enough.)
You can only get closer to him through Marnie, found just below your farm. She advertises him as someone you can hire to help around your farm. Whether with your animals, or with your foraging and other duties. He can be hired for one time services, or regular work. He will also store things in chests he will craft for you, or sell items at your request. He acts as an incredibly helpful housekeeper as well, even earning the player faster passive friendship with their own animals and a discount to his services as time goes on. You must have hired him for a total of at least nine days before you get his first heart event, which you must keep hiring him to build hearts, he charges anywhere between 5-50 gold, depending on the length of work. You can only build hearts through hiring him. You build said friendship points with every 5+ times of hiring him OR if you are able to drop 100 gold by hiring him, whether or not you have hired him the needed amount. Although luckily after his fourth heart event, he will actually begin to interact with you more, and your able to actually try to get a conversation out of him, and hopefully get more hearts without buying your way into them more or less.

{Working Can Only Get You So Far}
The event is triggered when you go near the adventures guild, near the base of a waterfall. You will see Bohemas sitting on the grass, glumly looking at a letter as he sighs, murmuring something to himself. He notices you, and quickly stashes the note in the breast pocket of his overalls. He shoots up and anxiously begins to rake the grass, failing at pretending to be doing something. The player has an option to walk away, to which he will sigh in relief and sit back down. Or, you have the option to chuckle and call his awkwardness rather endearing before you leave. He looks confused, staring at your back as you leave for quite the while, even as your form is basically invisible in the distance. He looks blank, before clearing his throat and going to spend the evening working on pulling thorny vines off the condemned community building, his mind preoccupied, so much so Mayor Lewis asks you back at the farm why Bohemas looks so flushed, and to remind him to not work so hard. Cute, and the first time we see really anything but a vague tired look in his eyes.
After this, Linus will have a fast passive friendship gain with you as well, and funnily stumble around being a wingman for Bohemas. ("You know.. he must be real strong from all the keeping work he does, if you like that thing.", "So... Bohemas, what do you think of him?" *Anytime you're in the same vicinity as Bohemas around Linus* "I'll let you two be" *wink.*)

{Even if it breaks your back}
The next, or the second heart event, can be started after you build a chicken coop on your farm, if applicable, you will have the option to hire him to patch up a leak in the roof, which you also need the 35g for that. The event will trigger if you go near wherever you place your chicken coop within the next three days. You will be able to find him, silent as ever, with nails in his breast pocket or mouth, and a hammer in hand. You can attempt to talk to him but he doesn't answer. After your riveting interaction with him, akin to talking to an actual wall, you will spot he has left a small pouch where he was standing. You have an option to take it, then to give it back to him the next day as he finishes up working on your coop. That , or you can leave it and he will eventually find it when you point it out during your next... very one-sided conversation with him. It is recommended to take it, but not absolutely needed. You will just get more context: It's watermelon seeds! You can then talk to Marnie about it. ("Oh! Yeah about that, our brooding beauty here has a great fascination for them actually. Nearly every year sine he's been here he's found a way to grow enough of them to keep himself satiated." *She chuckles, as if thinking about a pleasant memory.* "He could polish an entire one off by himself, you know.") Either way you learn some new information, and also are able to now buy watermelon seeds from him at a lower price than you could possibly at Pierre's, but he gets a little flushed if you mention any conversation you have had with Marnie about his love for the sweet seedy melons, maybe a slight passive friendship gain from said interaction.
You will also have a bit of an event with Linus after this, he tips you off more or less. ("Just a tip, you should make him a salad with it for your next date." *Ignores any opposition of you being together, although you also get a recipe for a watermelon mint salad. You cannot gift it to him YET, but it's a good thing to look out for. ;) It also gives you 25+ HP and 30+ Stamina when consumed.
END. (For Now.)
