Yeah like how many cooking ingredients do you ever really have? Even if you have a stack of every cooking ingredient and say 5 stacks of wheat/sugar that's still just barely over 2 fridges? Large refrigerator wouldn't really add much to the game
for me it's about organizing ingredients for preserves, and having an excess amount of quality ingredients, while keeping them separate from my other stuff. also have one fridge that is a "for profit" fridge, and another one that is for pet projects etc. I personally like having a fridge in whatever room I have decided will be my workshop, because I can just dump ingredients into them as I go, and then when I cook they automatically get pulled from across the house (works well for mayo, cheese, oil, etc.)

I have like four chests rn one for furniture one for clothes one for farming stuff and one for ores. Another one in the mines. Chests are really necessary lol.
When you get the chance, a dresser will hold an unlimited amount of clothing, shoes, rings, and hats. Robin sells them, and the travelling cart sometimes has them at a good price. They're also very easy to move around even when full!

It’s like anything else. If you focus a lot on the cooking aspect of the game (even more so with mods) then you may wish for a bigger fridge. Or for some it might be the look. They want their house to have the typical one fridge, not 3-4. Or more if your big on cooking.

Huh a dresser isn't absurdly expensive. I might just grab one. (Even though I need a heater for my barn and also other stuff)
