I know the explanation why the game has savepoints only once a day. But please please please please do add some kind of journaling and emergency saves! I was just peacefully playing, foraging a lot of salmonberries, pondering my farm, etc. etc... it was 8 PM ingame time when my computer decided to log me out. Woosh. There went the day. Repeating the same stuff again is no fun. A game should be fun.
Another point where an actual random savepoint would be very important is testing. Bug testing. The game crashes or glitches at a point you reach ingame late in the day (event or location). You change the parameters, Start the day. Play through the day (takes extra time even with Timespeed). Test again. Rinse and repeat. Every round takes multiple amounts of time compared with the possibility to make a savepoint a bit before the error point.
