Anyone get their game yet, and what do you think?

I've seen on reddit and board game geek that people have been getting their shipped and even some first impressions. What are your guys and gals first impressions, and did you play solo or with people?

i got mine yesterday! i haven't been able to play it yet (hopefully i can this weekend) but everything is very high quality, the art is gorgeous and everything is packed so nicely. the pictures online are great but it really doesn't do it justice. i'll also say that the rule book it comes with feels a lot more manageable than reading it online, it felt like i could grasp the rules a lot better. i'll have to post again when i get to play it

Everyone be careful when punching out all the tiles and such! As noted on BGG, the paper or the tile itself might become damaged in the process if you're too careless!

Cole, however, quickly replied that if any damage is done to the components or something feels out of place (warped cards or chipped corners etc), simply contact him through the Shopify site and he will mail you replacements as soon as he can! (much generous)

We got ours in on Tuesday, and have played 2 two-player games. First impressions very positive, positive enough to play two days in a row!

As Stardew fans, it's amazing and very faithful to the game. We were saying things like "I hope I see George in town, I have a gift I know he'll like" and planning days around fishing or going to the mines just like in the game.

We lost our first game because we didn't check the Pantry bundle until too late in the game to get the crop we needed. (Even that is so much like the video game!) But won our second! Both games we've ended up ditching the Complete the Museum Goal thanks to event cards. That seems like a difficult one, we haven't put together a strategy to complete it yet.

Professions, Profession Upgrades, Items, events, and goals made the game very different the two times we played. The game we lost I had a much more "optimized" build, at least I thought. Looking forward to finding more cool combos and builds. "Playing to your outs" is important. We wrote down a list of everything we needed to win to keep us focused in Fall and Winter.

We love it. Would like to hear others' first impressions! I can also answer questions if you're interested, OP.

I don't know if it's in the rule book, but during Leth's stream that Cole and Eric joined in on (https://www.twitch.tv/videos/930945587) Cole had mentioned that you're supposed to reveal the bundles in order from left to right, and he suggested flipping the first 2 over pretty quickly because of stuff like what happened to you. Were you late in flipping it over, or were you guys picking and choosing which to flip over first?

Wow, checked the rulebook and you're right, we missed the word "leftmost". Makes sense, as the foraging and farming ones would be the first you got that way. Our second game we did end up flipping those two over first on our own so we wouldn't mess that up again. Not sure if it's super important to do the rest in left to right order, as I haven't actually read through all the bundle cards yet. Thank you for pointing that out!

I think only 1 or so tile *really* I got out poorly, the paper on one side for one corner lifted up of course. I should've used an exacto knife but I got ~90% of it done at that point. Pressed my luck a bit! Everything's super lovely though! Def keep an eye out, I found luck punching from the *other* side (The flat side, not cut) for those risky ones.

You can try playing where any bundle can be revealed, but generally the 2 leftmost are the most time sensitive.

I received my copy a few days ago, but I finally had time today to play it! I though the game was really fun, although I was also teaching myself the game as I went and made a few mistakes as a result. I find it much easier to play through a game to learn the rules, but that does mean the first game usually doesn't go the best. I had one of Grandpa's goals (upgrade a tool twice) and two bundles left at the end. I will say once you get going, the game can go pretty quick if you're just playing through it on your own. I'm excited to play with multiple people soon!

An important note: hold the tile sheets "face up" when punching out tiles! You should be able to see a rounded edge on the tiles while punching them out, while the back should be flat. This will significantly help, because it will force any tearing to happen on the tile sheet itself, and not the tiles. You'll still need to be careful not to let any tearing extend to a neighbor tile, but as long as you can avoid that, you just have to trim the excess paper off the edge of the tile, which is pretty easy.
