but in winter i feel like im hearing the same song every day.... AgH. the scenery is kinda boring too,,,, just white... ;; and ofc nothing much to grow, unless you get your hands on some winter seeds which only produce stuff once :P

yeah overall my least favorite season

My first winter was one of my favorite seasons so far.

I was a bit bummed when I first got to Winter and found out I couldn't grow any farming crops. But then I realized you can generate Winter Seeds from Winter Roots with a seed maker, and you can get Winter Roots from the ground almost everywhere... Also made copious use of the Winter Seed crafting recipe.

So Snow Yams become my food during Winter, most of the other two Winter forage crops get sold or used for more Winter Seed packs, and any excess regular Winter Roots get saved for just in case.

I'm looking forward to my second winter.

I turned music off really early. I can listen to my own music any time I want anyway, and generally find video game music slightly annoying.

I love winter!
I grow so many wild seeds. I save crystal fruit for food and crocus for Sandy. You have time to grow three batches, crafting seeds from what you harvest. It raises your foraging skill quickly too.
I love digging up everything around town, the beach, and the spa finding so many yams & roots.
And I make so many field snacks, picking up all the tree seeds that wouldn't sprout until spring.
It's a great time to get to the bottom of the mine, upgrade all my tools to gold, unlock the sewer, fix the bus, and get my fishing skill up.
I think it's my favorite season!

I actually love winter. 3 Festivals, not having to water 27 crops every day, and the satisfying crunch of snow? Why wouldn't I like it? (Also there's good fishing.)

Winter is kindof a nice reprieve. I go into spring saying I'm going to take it easy and I'll concern myself only with the relaxing aspect of managing a little garden and then... autumn rolls around and I'm managing an industrial sized farm with 800+ plants and winter proves to be a forced reset.

I love winter. I grow lots of winter seeds because they’re so beautiful on the farm. The night market is fun. I get a chance to upgrade tools and keep Robin busy. It’s also an opportunity to rearrange the farm and reflect on what you’d like to do differently next year.

Spring, however is the worst. So much overgrowth to clear, my least favorite crops (except for blue jazz andrhubarb ), my farmer’s constant inability to learn the most basic of dances, and the constant humiliation that is the egg hunt (curse you, Abigail!). Give me winter any day.

Winter gives me a chance to catch up on a lot of things while not farming. I don't have to remember to close up any barns/coops. I can get so much done. It's just about the best season.

Winter is my favorite season, lots of things get upgraded and built, can focus on fishing and mining. 2nd Winter is when I start planning my decorations and aesthetics.

Endgame you still have the green house and now a whole tropical island to wait out the winter if you don't like it.

Winter is when my projects get done. But yeah, the music isn't great though it is, uh, Wintery?

Over the previous 3 seasons my priorities change and farm layouts get all topsy-turvy so Winter is when buildings and sprinklers get rearranged into a more efficient layout. Which then change as new things happen for the following 3/4 year and the next Winter everything gets redone again.

I don't have an organized farm like many do as I rather like the randomness. Anyway, how can you rearrange the furniture if you've already planned out every square of your layout? I need some variety!

There are a number of people here who share pictures of their farm setups which look very nice and are obviously well planned out, with almost every tile in their farm clearly placed in a coordinated design.

I don't have the... motivation... planning? yet to do things like that so my Farm changes pretty significantly every year, with crops, Coop, Barn, Sheds, Ponds, and grass patches moving every Winter as I try to find a way to do less work with the same resources. I just read here that other previously immovable structures can be moved in v1.5, so next Winter promises to be an even bigger move-fest.

Looking forward to it!

Winter is the best time to clear out the worst of the trees (trust me I made the mistake of letting them grow and payed for it later) and plan next years farm. Additionally its the best time to go out and use the mines.

Hate winter too. Like others mentioned, it's only good for rearranging your farm and going to the mines. I noticed that I usually stop playing my save files once it's winter and I've done everything that I could for that run.
