Android Android version 1.5 - no continuous attack on the left button?

Hi, I used to play the android version with "joystick and buttons" and there was continuous attack on the left button (out of 2). Now when I hold it, it only gives one attack and that's frustrating, because I can't tap the screen 20 times per second, it's ridiculous! Is there some solution to it??
