I love this game and I love playing it with my partner!! Genuinely one of the most charming and fun experiences I've ever had in any game, I think I have 70+ hours now on Switch? And that's only growing. I can't think of anything that's had my attention quite like Stardew, except probably Minecraft.
But anyway, yeah! I think adding nonbinary as an option for which gender your character is would be amazing, not only because my partner is obviously but with how expansive and diverse Stardew's community is, I think this addition would feel right at home. It would create a much more personal experience that's already present. My partner went with male for our playthrough, since between the two options that was the most comfortable for them. But, with how Stardew's relationship is with the players, that is one of something very personal I think (very lived in town, everyone has and creates their own story) I think it'd be all the more personal seeing my partner referred to as my spouse instead of husband (since, we are married in game hehe). And of course in general having them referred to with the correct pronouns in game would be awesome.
I don't think I speak for just me and my partner's experience when I say this would be a really nice feature to have. Just some food for thought!
