Greenhorn
So, how about adding in Herbs and Spices to growable crops? And assigning ALL ingredients a buff or duration extension, which starts at the basic for normal grade, and slightly increases for silver, then increases more for gold, and then finally increases significantly for Irridium ingredients?
And allow us to mkae custom dishes using whatever ingredients we want, to obtain whatever buffs we want, with the ability to add in more ingredients to increase the buffs, or add multiple buffs.
As too many people have stated, there is barely any point to mosr crops beyond the completion chain. So most just grow Ancient Fruit, because it is the sinpliest and easiest to make money from, and most dishes are not worth wasting time on beyond the single one needed to make and ship, or gift if so inclined.
Assigning every ingredient a different buff, or duration extension will enable us to essentially customise buffs for what we want, add utility to different ingredients, etc. Something like adding a rare fruit to a dish could increase luck by 1, a silver rare fruit could increase luck by 2, a gold rare fruit could increase luck by 3, and Irridium could increase luck by 4. Eggs could do Strength / attack by 1, 2 for silver, 3 for gold, and 4 for Irridium. Herbs and spices could extend duration the same way, with Irridium grade ensuring the buff would last a full day, while gold 3/4's of a day, silver half a day, and normal grade only 1/4 of a day.
Add in the ability to make yeast, so we can either make juice / punch from fruits / vege's, or alcoholic beverages. Alcoholic beverages when gifted, depending on the grade, would increase affection growth, with normal = no change from a normal gift, silver a 25% increase for all other interactions that day, gold 50% increase, and an Irridium grade a 100% increase, thus Irridium would double the affection from any further interactions that day.
Adding a new Skill. Blacksmithing.
We can actually craft our own weapons using ores and gems and minerals. Adding more ores / gems would add greater stats, with higher stats requiring far, far more of the ores and gems and minerals.
E.G. Crafting a weapon with 2 inate enchantments ( Say Bug Killer + Crusader, inates would still be random of course ), instead of requiring 1 prismatic and the 20 cinders, instead would cost 10 prismatic and 200 cinders. and double that again for a 3rd inate enchantment, and so on. So to craft a weapon that had 3 inate emchantments, it would cost 20 prismatics and 400 cinders. with 4 inates it would cost 40 primsmatics and 800 cinders.
Using various ores could determine the stat increase for the gems and minerals used. With Irridium or Radioactive allowing the gems and minerals increase to be the highest, and adding in more gems or minerals would increase that stat / buffs effect. With Str / def / sp / etc being increased by 1 with every stage of gems used.
For example. Using 10 Irridium ore + 10 Radioactive ore + 100 Iron ore +100 Gold ore + 100 copper orer and 1000 coal could craft a level 13 weapon with similar stats to the infinity weapons. Adding in gems would increase the gem buffs, like emerald for speed. But to incresse the sp more and more requires more and more gems to be added, with the gem in the hilt being like a master gem. So if you use 1 diamond in the hilt, you can only add 1 of each other gem / mineral to the weapon / boots / head / chest, for the minimum increase allowable.
Double the gems, and it increases the stat by 1%. and so on. With no limit on how many gems you can add, and no limit on the stat increases. But once your craft it, you can not increase it further.
So 2 of the gems you want to use for a 2% increae, 4 for a 3% increase, 8 for a 4% increase, and so on.
The ability to also craft unique rings. Ones that you could have increased stats like luck +2, 3, 4, and so on, depending on how many ores and gems you used to craft, with Galaxy Souls being used for luck. So 1 Galaxy soul would increase luck by 1, 2 infinity souls would increase luck by 2, 4 infinity souls would increase luck by 3, 8 infinity souls would increase luck by 4, and so on. But with rings, you can only add 2 stats at most, but you can however, combine them with other rings of the same grade ( a ring that had used 10 Irridium + Radioactive and 100 Iron + gold + copper ore, would be considered a lvl 1 ring. A ring that had used 20 Irridium + Radioactive + 200 Gold + Iron + Copper would be considered a lvl 2 ring. 40 Irridium + Radioactive + 400 Gold + Iron + coppper would be considerd stage 3, and so on. ) You could only combine rings with another ring that was the same same level, and combining the 2 rings would combine the functions of that ring. would only increase the stat ( lets use the Irridium rings light / magnet / increased attack for example ) by 50%, instead of 100%. So if you used 2 rings with 4 luck on them, and combined them, you would not get 8 luck on the new ring, but 6.
Allowing us to craft and customise will provide literal years of gameplay, for those using consoles at least, and then some. It gives us something else to grind towards, and will, over time, make aspects of the game easier, and more and more fun.
You could even extend that to tools that have reached Irridium Grade, like an Irridium grade watering can being able to, with various gems and other ores, be able to have fertiliser added to the can, meaning when you water, it fertilisers the affected area as well, or a different gem and mineral combination will enable you to add seeds to it instead, and upgrades or both the can, gems and ores will allow you to add fertiliser and seeds, etc. Fishing rods could add extra distance / luck / treasures / more hooks / etc. Pickaxes could add +1 ( or more ) ores per node, or extra chance of various gems per node, etc, axes could add more wood, or chance of hardwood, or seeds, or sap, etc.
With limited changes and additions, it will open up so much more and allow so much more customisation of everything, which would encourage so much more gameplay.
Obviously PC / Mobile players can ignore this since they can use mods to do so, so much more than Console players can :(
Adding in a Skull Cavern Elevator every 5 floors, that you pass would be a highly welcome addition as well.
