That's a relatively rare overnight event. It can trigger more than once, too, so you may end up having more than one owl in the future.

I had two owls in a save once that I named Patience and Fortitude and placed on either side of the spa entrance. Someone, either Linus or Alex, walked through Fortitude and made it disappear.

There are quite a few different events like this that can happen, some to do with placing an item or object on the farm like this one, or something on your farm being affected

They're rather unimpactful but they're fun to see as they're rather rare and have their own sound effects, cutscenes, or easter eggs
