16 kegs disappeared

I set off a bomb near my chest and destroyed my favorite statue (knight armor) so I reset and when I restarted 16 of my legs were gone that I had by the fence on the road to town.

Where exactly did you place the kegs? Is it possible that someone walked to the bus stop and destroyed them?

They were right along this fence all the way to the end. I don’t think anyone would destroy them, and I know I didn’t. The only one this time of year that comes through is Pam and it doesn’t get in her way.

According to the pathing maps on the wiki, those are not safe spaces to put things. The Bus Stop page says "Abigail walks back and forth to the bush northeast of the bus on Tuesdays in the Fall." That looks like a Fall landscape to me, and it's Wednesday morning...

You'd think she or Pam would have destroyed that last keg too, unless you just placed that there right before the screenshot as a marker?

I just placed it, but I didn’t know that. The weird things is they were there before the reset as I had just passed them.

I tried placing kegs there before. The top row always gets destroyed.

I confirm that these are not safe places to put objects. The road to the left (Backwood) and the tunnel are far better and safer options if you want to place objects near your farm without checking for safe spots.
