Switch 1.6 First Pet Disappeared

Haven't seen this posted yet, but sorry if this is redundant.

This happened on a co-op Switch save, version 1.6.9.37

Our cat, given from Marnie at the start of the game, disappeared at Spring year 2. It's not present anywhere on the farm, and does not appear in the animal profiles, like it never existed.

We have not tried to get rid of it. We have not moved the original pet bowl, built more bowls or adopted more pets. The cat didn't have any special characters in its name. It was one of the OG sprites from before the 1.6 update, though we did put a party hat on it.

This happened on my co-op switch save as well. Super frustrating. I miss my kitty :(

Same issue here
Switch, 1.6, new save, local coop, pet disappeared.

Same with us, unsure what could have triggered it and when exactly it happened. Didn't see him for a day and didn't think anything of it, then a few days passed and still hadn't seen him. The bowl remains but he's no longer on the animals list.

Two possible triggers, I think I moved our house, and may have removed a spare player cabin we weren't using. It happened around the end of year 1 summer.

The save was new for 1.6 on switch

Same issue on the Switch co-op. 2 dogs are just gone and their full bowls remain. We miss them.

same, I just chalked it up as I neglected him so he just left.
