Solved 1.6 black screen when entering home, cannot sleep or enter home [Windows]

hi so i just upgraded my house fully and on the final day of it, i could no longer sleep in my home without the game showing a black screen. I only use two mods and i double checked they were updated and then removed them fully to see if it would fix the issue. I still couldn't sleep in my house without the black screen showing up. I used a tent kit hoping that the issue would pass when the house was done upgrading. It didn't, now I can't even enter my house without crashing. I am on PC, in english, single-player, keyboard/mouse, running v 1.6.8 build 24119.
