Okay, so the Farm Computer gives you a lot of information about your farm, right?

Put one out on Ginger Island, and use it. What does it tell you? The same information as one put on the back in the valley. It doesn't tell you anything about the island.

So, the way I see it... my suggestion has two options to it, or basic ways the farm computer could be improved...

#1:
Have the farm computer report on the Ginger Island farm space as well.

#2:
Have the farm computer, when placed on Ginger Island, report on the Ginger Island farm space.

I know. I used the future tense because I'm very far from unlocking the island.

Looks like a close vote! I think option two would be a good implementation as it would require you to visit each farm to get stats for it. Plus how would a computer on your farm know about things happening on Ginger Island (and vice versa)?

I do think that is the more realistic way to implement it, yes. As it stands now, though, since it can report on the home farm from the island I didn't want to eliminate the possibility of it reporting on the island from the home farm as an option for folks to consider, you know?

Also, I originally voted for that too, but since I posted this, I've reconsidered and changed my vote, so it's not quite as close as it was a moment ago.

What if you could have a dropdown box or a tab for each farm?

The farm computer does have a dish, it could be like, AM frequencies or something.

That is one way that option #1 could be implemented, yes.

While it's true that having to physically go to the Island to get its stats makes it a tiny bit less useful, I do think it's the cleanest way to organize the information.

Alternatively, you could make a second computer recipe with dragon tooth or something that specifically reports about the island farm, wherever you put it, like the current computer does.
