1.5 ONLY Discussion thread

Hello everyone, lately I've been noticing many people who don't yet have the update show their concerns about the plethora of spoilers even with the protective measures put into limiting them (with no fault to moderators/admins, it's hard to create a ruleset everyone will follow let alone read before posting about the immediate issue they need help with).
There are a few that are rightfully upset with the update spoilers when they'd rather experience those things themselves in due time and are waiting for the update to arrive on their platform. While they wait, they are still a group who's opinion matters and who still deserve to partake in the forums like anyone else while having some of their wants met too. While I am not a moderator nor do I have any ability to change the forums as they currently are, I thought a possible middle ground that could be made with a post (Ideally pinned to the top of the game discussion thread but that can happen or be discussed later) for those users who are still playing 1.5 and wish to partake in spoiler free discussion or ask questions specific for 1.5 without 1.6 mechanics, items, npcs, changes, etc. being referenced.

Any questions in this thread will be assumed to be for the 1.5 update and have answers that are relevant to 1.5. While I cannot prohibit any 1.6 content from being mentioned, please refrain from posting about 1.6 or at the very least use spoiler tags and be mindful of the target audience of this post.

I'll try to answer any 1.5 specific questions people have

That's very fair, they are decently easy to craft, 3 per iron bar, and you can stretch it a bit more with the preserving enchant too
Preserving enchantment is definitely worth it, it's my go-to for my everyday rod. I keep a master rod with a trap bobber in reserve for particularly tricky fish. :toothy:

Does anyone else keep a little supply area? I have a couple of chests with my stock of stairs, food, extra equipment etc close to the house so I can grab what I need easily.

I do the same, usually have a few with a bunch of tools, ring combos, buff foods, etc. which I like to use most often.

I tend to go one further and put a chest with items at my destination. Bombs/spicy eel at desert, bombs/gifts for Dwarf at mines.
In my last save, I put junino chests at those locations so I could put cheese/bombs/etc in as I got it, and then when I inevitably showed up at skull cavern with only half the stuff I needed, I could just grab them from the chest. I haven't don't that yet this save, but it is super convenient.

Brilliant! Junimo chests with wood and stone with an endpoint at Robin's place would save so much time. Because getting the Bill of Materials for a project from the phone, and actually bringing the materials are two different things.

I find the junimo chests to be too small to be useful. Also, I inevitably forget where I have put them.
Usually you can fit enough in it to swap out useless stuff for a mines trip which is really the only place I could imagine them useful. Many people go around with extra tools but nobody really carries more than 9 extra tools with them when they go around, the junimo chest is usually enough for that spare stuff

I don't know if I'm exposing myself here but I usually just buy all the wood and stone I need for a building from robin when I build it, it adds a little more cost but I never remember to bring materials otherwise.

I have an IRL habit of losing stuff that drives me up the wall, so in the game where I have the equivalent of hammerspace, I almost always carry: watering can, scythe, hoe, axe, pickaxe, weapon, stack of food for healing, fishing pole, pan, and return scepter if I have it, farm warp totem if I don't. So I have to dump most of this if I'm going into the skull cavern - and then because my typical ring/weapon/boot combo is set up for the dangerous mines or volcano dungeon, I also need to swap out those four items, then pick up a stack of bombs and one of staircases. And then I need some triple shot espresso and whichever luck buff food I want for the day.

Basically, I've given up on going into the skull caverns. The setup is just too annoying.

Yes it’s an extended toolbox for me as well. It would be nice if the walnut room would give you a backpack upgrade for perfection or something.
