seed spot

I'm playing on the Switch 2 (v1.6.15 build 13) and there are no seed spots to dig. I'm in Fall, year 1 and have not seen carrots, squash, or broccoli. I've previously played other save files on the same console and I have found these spots. Has anyone else experienced this?

I discovered this by pure chance, coming across a seed spot I hadn't noticed and then walking it off screen to see if a tracker arrow appeared for it, which it didn't.
