qi's kindness

Hello, I recently accepted the Qi's Kindness quest on Switch, and I tried giving a Stardrop Tea to the Wizard, and to Marnie. Their reactions were as expected, but when I checked my quest progress, the count said "0/50" gifts given. Anyone else having this trouble? Could be a bug?... Thanks!
