mayor's shorts glitch

I’m playing 1.6 solo on my OLED switch. I entered Marnie’s room to collect the mayors shorts and they have disappeared from my inventory. Went back next day to Marnie’s to see if they would respawn and they are gone.

Hey!! I got a latest update on my switch today when I open it, now it’s 1.6.9.40. Anyone knows what’s the latest update about? I really hopes there’s update about the bug about the golden coconut can’t be exchange, raccoon list not ungraded….
