disappearing axe

explain the issue (including any pattern you noticed about when it happens): My Axe disappeared and after a few saves I went to use it and realized it was gone. No villager has it, I can't access Crow (if he is real lol), and it isn't in any chest, I don't own a fridge. full error text (if any)...
