iOS Island Field Office Fossil ‘Dupe’ Bug

When donating fossils to the island Field Office, it will count as donated, but the fossil will remain in your inventory. You can use this ‘duped’ item again to donate, so items like the snake spine, you essentially only need one to complete it.

Playing on iPad 10th Gen, OS v18.5. The game itself is in v1.6.15 build. 24354.

I also experienced this on iPhone.


I had only one Snake Vertebrae in my inventory and donated it to Professor Snail, but the fossil did not disappear from my inventory. I was able to donate it again even though I only had one.


The same thing happened with Fossilized Legs. I donated them, but they remained in my inventory afterward.

I currently still have 5 Fossilized Legs in a chest even though I had already donated them.
